Recessed LED Lighting Installation
In addition to their principal advantages of durability and customization, slim LED recessed lights have a number of other benefits.
Slim LED recessed lights are a cost-effective and energy-efficient lighting option that can be used in a wide range of applications. They work excellently in residential spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, and garages, and are also a great choice for commercial and industrial spaces.
Slim LED recessed lights, also known as thin-profile or low-profile recessed lights, are a type of light fixtures that are installed into a ceiling to provide general or task lighting. They are called "slim" or "thin-profile" because they have a smaller and more streamlined appearance compared to traditional recessed “high hat” lights.
Compact size. Slim LED recessed lights are typically only ½” deep. Because of their thinness and the way that the LEDs are fixed into the panel itself, they can be used for applications where the use of traditional incandescent lighting would be difficult or impossible. They are also an excellent choice for limited-clearance ceilings. Ceiling insulation values are not reduced when slim LED recessed lights are installed in an attic-facing ceiling, as opposed to traditional “high hat” lights. With slim recessed lights, you will not need to offset the spacing in cases where ceiling joists would normally be in the way.
Controlling your new recessed LED lighting
Reamco can repurpose the existing switch or add another switch beside it to control your recessed lighting. We can also install a dimmer switch for multiple levels of lighting comfort! Smart switches are a great option; they can be controlled from your smartphone. You can also set them up for voice activation as well.
If you have an older home that has receptacles controlled by a switch, Reamco can wire the receptacles to constant “on” and repurpose that switch location for your new recessed lighting.
The Reamco Difference
TIP: When booking, ask about our Future-Proof Wiring option! Reamco will enable your lights to have the option of being controlled in separate zones, and able to be adjusted independently. We often install this in larger rooms, or when there is a problem with lights reflecting or glaring on a TV.
.Here at Reamco, your satisfaction is our priority. Are you looking for a space and energy-efficient way to light your space? Contact us today, and we’ll discuss the details of your recessed lighting design.
There are a variety of recessed light sizes, ranging from 4” to 10”, with the standard being 6”. Reamco installs models that have selectable temperature settings, from warm white to bright daylight white. These settings can be adjusted during or after installation.
Why should I choose slim LEDs for my recessed lights?
In addition to their principal advantages of durability and customization, slim LED recessed lights have a number of other benefits. Here are just a few!
Energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly. LED (light-emitting diode) lights are known for their low power consumption and long lifespan. This helps reduce your energy and maintenance costs. Additionally, slim LED recessed lights often have a high color rendering index (CRI), which means that they can accurately reproduce colors in the space they are illuminating.
Cool touch. LEDs don’t produce heat in the form of infrared radiation, which is what makes incandescent bulbs hot to the touch. This absence of IR radiation allows LED fixtures to be positioned in locations where heat from conventional bulbs would cause a problem.
