Ceiling Fan Installation
There are many benefits to installing a ceiling fan in your home, such as energy efficiency, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
Fans create cooling effects, and can even be utilized during the winter months, allowing you to lower your thermostat and save on energy costs. Ceiling fans are an excellent way to update your space and keep your home at the ideal temperature. Contact Reamco today to unlock your breezy, energy-efficient future.
Energy-Efficiency
Most of us know that fans’ breezy higher speed creates a cooling effect. But did you know this wind chill effect makes the room feel 6-8 degrees cooler than the actual ambient temperature?
Fans don’t only cool your house! During the winter months, run your ceiling fan in reverse, using a slower speed. This “winter flow” mode circulates the warm air downward, equalizing the temperature in the room. This efficient use will enable you to set your thermostat lower. Let’s hear it for reduced energy costs!
Comfort
Ceiling fans increase comfort by circulating air, which helps reduce stuffiness and makes the room feel more pleasant. Some models even ionize the air, improving your home's air quality.
Aesthetics
A fan is no longer considered “just another appliance”! Focus on fans as decor has greatly increased over the last decade. There are almost as many style choices as paint swatches at the local hardware store - and just as customizable to your space as that perfect paint color. Lowe's and Home Depot are great places to start searching for that perfect fan - they’re dependable and have great selection.
Cost-Effective
In terms of initial investment, ceiling fans are significantly more affordable than air conditioners. Homeowners can save up to 40% on air conditioning bills by running fans. Since fans reduce the ambient temperature of the room by seven or eight degrees, you can set your thermostat at 80°, and your room will still feel 72°!
FAQ about Ceiling Fan Installation
Q: I have a two-story foyer in my entryway. Can Reamco install a fan here?
A: Yes! We install fans in many vaulted and cathedral ceilings; however, if your ceiling is over 25’ high, please contact us for a special survey to determine if a fan installation is feasible. If your ceiling is under 7.5’, we do not recommend installing a ceiling fan.
Q: Will you need to make holes/openings in the wall and ceiling to install cable?
A: This depends on the location of the fan relative to the switch. If there is attic access, our electricians can install the wiring for your fan without needing to cut holes in your walls.
Q: How much will it cost for Reamco to install my ceiling fan?
A: Prices depend on factors such as wiring/switch work that may need to be done, the height of the ceiling in your room, and the age of your house. Contact us today for a specialized quote.
